Australian Chiropractors Need Your Help

As you may be aware, an independent national review into the practice of spinal manipulation of children under the age of 12 is currently being undertaken by Safer Care Victoria (SCV), with the findings of this review to be provided to all Australian Health Ministers later this year.

While this review will examine all available research, it also asks for submissions from members of the public to ensure an informed decision is made about the future of chiropractic in Australia for children under 12.

Australian chiropractors see over 30,000 children a week, and your voice is vital in demonstrating how meaningful chiropractic care is to children.

As this review has the potential to jeopardise the level of care chiropractors in Australia can offer to you and your family, the Australian Chiropractors Association (ACA) are calling upon patients and parents of patients who have experienced the benefits of chiropractic care to make a submission.

By sharing your personal experience, through a simple and short online submission, you can show the significant role chiropractors play in your family’s healthcare.

The following questions may help guide your answers:

  • What age was your child when spinal care was provided?
  • What was the main reason you saw a chiropractor, and did you see any other practitioner?
  • How satisfied were you with the information, involvement and care provided?
  • Why is this review important to you and is there anything else you would like to tell?

Patients and parents of patients across Australia are eligible to make a submission, not just patients based in Victoria. Have your say in the SCV chiropractic review, and help chiropractors continue to provide care for all Australians.

The profession greatly appreciates your support. You can make your submission at https://engage.vic.gov.au/chiropractic-spinal-care-children-review
