Developing a brain-based approach in chiropractic practice

In this session you will explore the typical development trajectory in early life and highlight how the adaptive responses to stress during early childhood development can be con-sequential throughout life.

Learning Outcomes

From this session you should have a ‘whole to part’ understanding of working with kids and adults with neurodevelopment disorders, including the trajectory of brain development along with altered neurological function and deflected processing patterns as a result of subluxation.

Biography

Dr Amy Spoelstra graduated cum laude from Sherman College of Chiropractic. She is the founder of the FOCUS program and opened the doors to the program in 2011 in the Coeur d’ Alene office.

Amy now teaches chiropractors, educators and other medical professionals around the country and internationally about Neuro-Deflective Disorders ™ and the FOCUS approach to comprehensive patient care for children and adults with behavioural, learning, socialization and developmental challenges.

She is the founder of the Brain Blossom Program ™ and FOCUS Academy ™ for continued education for certified FOCUS practitioners.

Amy has extensive post-doctoral training in paediatric chiropractic and has contributed to the Practice-Based Research Network with the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association.
