Give Back in 2020

As with every December, the ACA held their annual Christmas charity drive, Giving Back Week from 7 to 13 December. With chiropractic clinics from all over Australia participating, there is no doubt that many families across the country will be positively impacted by the generosity of all those who donated.

As we all know, many Australians have been impacted by the effects of COVID-19 this year. Giving Back is a great way to reach out to the vulnerable in our communities and if you can, embrace in the spirit of the season by giving and sharing. In these uncertain times where people rely on one other, it allows chiropractors to become beacons of support.

ACA chiropractors invited their patients and members of their community to donate either new toys, non-perishable food items, hygiene products, or monetary donations to families in need. All donations were delivered to the local charities selected, in time for Christmas.

As per the former Giving Back Day model, many chiropractors took it one step further by accepting donations in lieu of payment on a selected day. Many practices also continued to collect donations in addition to payment for the rest of the week.

A number of charities around the country formed partnerships with chiropractic clinics to accept the donations, including Foodbank Australia, Salvation Army, The Smith Family and many local charities.

The ACA is thankful for the immense generosity by patients, members of the public and ACA members. You have truly helped make this Christmas a special one for many families in what has been an uncertain and difficult year. The ACA looks forward to hosting this campaign again in 2021!
