AICE Neurorehabilitation

The next AICE Neurorehabilitation webinar, titled The Neurology of Spinal Manipulation will be held Wednesday 15 September 2021 and presented by Dr Shawn Thistle.

Spinal manipulation unites chiropractors across numerous techniques and clinical approaches, with our patients as beneficiaries. But do we know how it works, or what it does to our patients from a neurological perspective? Building on important foundational work, many potential neurological mechanisms are now undergoing exciting scientific investigation.

Join Dr Thistle in this entertaining and enlightening talk where he will explore the science on neurological theories and proposed mechanisms of action for spinal manipulation and break down how it can inform practicing chiropractors.

Registration closes 11:45am AEST 15 September 2021.

Learning Outcomes

The learning objectives for attendees are:

  • to summarize real-world challenges pertaining to the study of spinal manipulation;
  • to explore contemporary areas of scientific inquiry into the neurological mechanism(s) of action for high-velocity spinal manipulation, including: mechanotransduction, pain perception, sensorimotor integration, brain function and muscle activation.
