08 July: Scoliosis in Children

Dr Jeb McAviney

Dr McAviney  is the clinical director of Sydney Scoliosis Clinic, and one of Australia’s leading authorities on non-surgical scoliosis treatment.

He holds  Masters degrees in Pain Medicine and Chiropractic, and brings a wealth of experience in scoliosis treatment, education, and research.

Dr McAviney oversees all cases and gives guidance to the clinical team. He drives research development initiatives to ensure patients get access to the latest and most evidence based procedures.

Dr Catriona McNamara

Dr Catriona McNamara is a Doctor of Chiropractic and the Principal Chiropractor at Park Road Chiropractic.  With over 20 years of wide ranging and in depth clinical experience, Dr McNamara has continued to further her clinical skill, completing extensive post graduate studies and authoring clinical papers. She is recognised amongst her peers as proficient in the Chiropractic technique of Gonstead and in 2002, her expertise was recognised by the Australian Gonstead Chiropractic Society as a Diplomate. As such Dr McNamara continues to be involved in ongoing education both for students training in chiropractic and fellow Chiropractors. In 2015 she received the annual award for “Clinical Excellence” from the Gonstead Society in Australia.

A fully registered member of the Chiropractic Association of Australia since 1995, Dr McNamara is also a mother of three children. As such she has a keen understanding and special interest in the area of paediatric and pregnancy related Chiropractic issues. She is also one of a few Chiropractors that has completed a 2 year postgraduate in Paediatrics (chiropractic). Dr McNamara regularly teaches at seminars and is involved in a multidisciplinary approach to the care of infants with difficulties breastfeeding due to tongue tie (ankyloglossia).

22 July: Concussion in Children

In this webinar Brett will cover some of the key concussion pathophysiology, as well as an overview of some of the evidence-based recommendations on concussion assessment and management in children, including multimodal clinical assessments, and individualised targeted treatment.

Dr Brett Jarosz

Brett Jarosz is an ACA endorsed Fellow Sports & Exercise Chiropractor (AICE 2019), who has been consulting in private practice since December 2008. He has a strong practice interest in athletic and sporting injuries; neuro-orthopaedic rehabilitation (including pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation); corrective exercise strategies; and optimizing athletic performance.

Besides Sports & Exercise chiropractic, Brett also has practice interests in clinical neuroscience and rehabilitation, particularly concussion and persistent concussion symptoms (post-concussion syndrome).

Dr Olivia Gleeson

Olivia is a chiropractor and co-founder of the Nervana group.

Olivia graduated from RMIT University in Melbourne in 1998. Following graduation she moved to Perth and worked as an associate for four years before starting her own business.

Olivia completed a two year diplomate in Chiropractic Paediatric Neuro-development and has a keen interest in women’s health, babies, kids and family health. Olivia has presented at conferences around Australia to maternity hospitals, playgroups, schools and maternal child health nurses.

In 2013 she won a “40 Under 40” business award for contributions to the Perth business sector.
