Introduction to Neural Resilience
About
AICE Neurorehabilitation are presenting a webinar, titled Introduction to Neural Resilience to be held on Wednesday 29 March 2023 and presented by psychologist Dr Maria Ruberto.
In this one hour webinar Dr Ruberto will introduce the new national data that maps symptoms of mental ill-health to resilience, and discuss the overlapping presentations and how to address this when treating families. Dr Ruberto will review the implications on how these co-morbidities of the more prevalent mental health issues play out socially, while examining the neuromechanics of the activation pathways when anxiety escalates, and the cost to self-regulation and personal integrity. Behaviours at this time will be referenced and addressed, especially through the limbic pathways and thalamic activation, as well as the implications on attention and perspective.
The webinar will conclude with the PR6, the new measure and model of resilience based on neuroscience, so that there is a benchmark to which intervention could be directed.
Date: Wednesday 29 March 2023
Time: 8:30pm to 9:30pm AEDT
Registration closes 29 March 2023 at 4:00pm
Learning Outcomes
Participants will be able to:
- identify the aspects of the Neural Resilience model and talk to current data – both Australian and International findings;
- reference language to share with clients to help build a context to your treatment [systems-thinking];
- identify task-positive states of neural activation to be matched with parasympathetic activation;
- understand the transmission affect of co-regulation.
