AICE Neurorehabilitation

The next AICE Neurorehabilitation webinar, titled Heart Rate Variability – A Metric of Stress Coping Potential  will be held Wednesday 4 August 2021 and presented by Dr Adrian Wenban.

In this one-hour webinar Dr Wenban will discuss the theory behind stress coping and lifestyle changes that can enhance HRV and stress coping potential. Also covered will be the key research relating to heart rate variability to health, stress coping, disease and all-cause mortality, including physiology related power spectral analysis of heart rate variability.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will learn how to:

  • describe theory behind stress coping being a reflection of one’s adaptive capacity;
  • describe the physiology underlying power spectral analysis of heart rate variability (HRV);
  • describe key research relating HRV to health, stress coping, disease and all-cause-mortality;
  • understand how to personally and professionally measure HRV;
  • list the basics of lifestyle changes that can enhance HRV and stress coping potential.
