Core and Extremities Rehabiliation is a free webinar series for ACA Student members, as part of our commitment to the next generation of practitioners.

These information evenings will be presented on Thursday evenings at 8:00pm AEST.

  • 20 August: Popliteus: The Key to the Knee by Dr Steven Hewitt
  • 27 August: The Spring in your Step: Managing Common Foot and Ankle Issues by Dr Matthew Wall.
  • 3 September: Addressing the Shoulder in a Throwing Athlete by Dr Adam Floreani

These webinars will provide an insight into injury specific regions, using a range of case studies. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from experienced practitioners as they share their knowledge and first-hand experiences of caring for sports and exercise specific patients.

Part 1 Core

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to reschedule The Core and Lumbopelvic webinar with Dr Chiara Tomassoni.  We are planning to move this session to 10 September and will advise once we have this confirmed.

Dr Chiara Tomassoni

Dr Chiara Tomassoni is a Sports Chiropractor from Melbourne. Since graduating from RMIT University in 2012, she has worked with her family in their multidisciplinary practices in Melbourne and rural Victoria, while working with various sporting codes including Soccer and Netball.

Dr Tomassoni’s passion for working in multidisciplinary environments treating athletes at events, drove her to complete the ICCSP and Strength & Conditioning Accreditation. With her other passion being travel, Dr Tomassoni considers herself privileged that the highlights of her career to date include working at the 2015 World Sport Games in Italy, the 2017 World Games in Poland, and a 2017 World Tour for an international pop-star

Part 2 Popliteus

Dr Steven Hewitt

Dr Steven Hewitt  graduated from RMIT in 2003 and has been in private practice since that time. Steve achieved his DACNB in 2006 and began working with weightlifting athletes on an ongoing basis from 2009.

Dr Hewitt now consults to a range of strength athletes from various disciplines, working with weightlifters, powerlifters and crossfitters, as well as regular gym goers.

Steve has a movement based practice philosophy that values the principles of regional interdependence.

Dr Matthew Wall

Dr Matthew Wall graduated from Macquarie University in 2009 and has a keen interest in working with athletes, from injury management, through to performance optimisation using the assessment and optimisation of functional movement and capacity. Dr Wall is a certified Strong First Kettlebell Instructor and combines these skills with his clinical knowledge to develop corrective strategies, programs and workshops for athletes, trainers, sport groups and the general public.

Dr Wall is an ICCSP and member of Sports Chiropractic Australia and is excited to have the opportunity to share his knowledge with you.

Dr Adam Floreani

Dr Adam Floreani graduated from Murdoch University in Perth in 2010 and during his studies was awarded the Sports Chiropractic Australia Graduate Award.

Dr Floreani is the Sports Chiro Australia Vice President, which has enabled him to work with international sporting teams and events.

Throughout his life, Dr Floreani has always been passionate about sport and sporting organisations. He currently works closely with a number of football, netball, cricket and soccer clubs as well as many individual athletes. He specialises in sports injury prevention, management and rehabilitation.
